In Uganda, a fuel tanker exploded high up onto the highway after overturning in the Kigoowa town area, leaving at least 11 people dead, including children, among crowds gathering there to siphon fuel from the crashed tanker before it went up in fire. Several people were seriously injured by the fire, whereby the victims had been burnt beyond recognition. The cause of the accident is yet to be established by authorities, while rescue teams managed to contain the blaze and prevent further destruction.
